Jon Zahourek, Artist
Jon Zahourek recognized early on that he was part of a community and from a young age had deep desire to contribute to his larger human family. Raised in Oklahoma in a climate committed to service and military solutions, Jon never had any intentions of becoming an artist, though he had always had a passion for drawing. Nonetheless, Jon was catapulted into the world of art in 1960 after a series of events that shattered his early belief in military solutions. Although Jon lost his initial convictions of what it meant to be of service, he soon realized that his artistic insights had the potential heal inner, outer, political, and emotional conflicts and add meaning to the world.
